The Restorative and Conciliatory Community (more commonly known as RESTO training) provides participants with the knowledge and skills to implement a restorative approach and mediation in their own work and in different conflict situations. The training is practical and collaborative. The training will provide the necessary material for practical work, which each participant can use in their own community in the way they wish. The content of the training sessions will be based on the participants' insights, experiences and discussions, so each group will create its own course.
NOTE! We strongly recommend that 2-4 staff representatives from each learning community attend the training. This will allow for a more effective transfer of the restorative approach to their own community and for mediation to be carried out in pairs where necessary.
The training is a process, which requires attendance at all stages. At the end of the training, the participant will have an understanding of restorative thinking, inclusion and encounter. The participant will also be able to use the process of restorative mediation in everyday conflict situations.
Target group:
The training is targeted at staff in charge of education and training in nurseries, schools and educational institutions. You are welcome to join us from anywhere in Finland!
Time and place:
- period (Mon-Sat) 6.- 7.10.2025 (Restorative circles, restorative community building)
- period (Wed-Thu) 29 - 30.10.2025 (Role of the Restorative Mediator and the mediation process, mediation exercises)
- period (Tue) 2.12.2025 (Restorative skills in challenging situations, mediation exercises continue)
We work on training days from 9am to 4pm.
Training space: The VERSO office is located at Kutomo Business Park, Kutomo Road 16, Helsinki.
Price: 250€/participant (VAT 0%, non-profit association).
Language of education: This training group is conducted in Finnish, but the trainer is also fluent in Swedish and English and training materials are also available in these languages. If you are unsure about participating in Finnish, you can consult the trainer in advance by telephone Michaela / 040 197 7272.
Trainer: The trainer is Michaela Lindholm, trainer of the VERSO programme.
Registration: To register, send your name, title, unit and billing details by email to michaela.lindholm@sovittelu.com. Please make sure that all the requested information is included in your registration message. Places will be filled on a first come, first served basis and advance bookings are already available.
NOTE! By registering, you commit to attending the training in full. In the case of unplanned absences, a substitute course or assignment will be arranged with the instructor separately. If you do not yet know the details of the participants, you can also book a provisional place by sending an email to michaela.lindholm@sovittelu.com. Participants can be changed according to your needs up to the 1st period of the training.
