June Mediation Living Room Wed 3.6. at 4–5.30 pm: Connections between the body and mind in mediation – Mind-Body Bridging

Welcome to our support association Finnish Mediation Forum For the last Mediation Living Room of spring on Wed 3.6. at 16:00–17:30!

Our topic is the mind-body connection: we will discuss how a mediator can benefit from recognising and calming an overstimulated mind-body system. The presenter is Keijo Halinen from the Finnish Mind-Body Bridging Association (MBB® Master Trainer)., https://smbb.fi/Keijo says:

”Mediation is based on voluntariness, and MBB® (Mind-Body Bridging®) supports the achievement of calmness and peace of mind, which opens up a wide range of possibilities for mediation, when constricted and over-stimulated mind-bodies do not hinder achieving results in mediation.

An old saying states that the body knows before the conscious mind does. Gaining distance from internal demands, stories, and repair activities, along with focusing on sensations and creating mind-body maps, are key steps in strengthening the connection between mind and body.

MBB® is a treatment method approved by the US FDA (Food and Drug Administration) for the treatment of PTSD and severe trauma. It has also been studied among victims of domestic violence, cancer patients, ethnic minorities, etc. A study conducted at the University of Oulu in Finland examined how MBB® supported the professional identity of psychology doctoral students.”

Keijo Halinen's introduction was commented on by experienced mediation expert Jens Gellin, who pondered the connections between MBB and restorative thinking in Sovittelusanoma 1/2026 – you can find that article here: https://sovittelu.com/2026/03/31/mbb-ja-sovittelu/

The people on the board of the Finnish Mediation Forum will again be facilitating the event.
