Maintenance

The VERSO programme supports education and training units that carry out mediation activities in preventing and intervening in bullying.

Maintenance and mentoring

The VERSO programme supports trained units in maintaining and developing bullying prevention and intervention activities in a client-oriented and, where necessary, tailor-made way. Activities are supported through maintenance training and various meetings, such as maintenance support meetings, national peer sharing and mentoring group meetings, and caregiver webinars. Support is also provided through physical and electronic materials, online courses and other information material available to trained units in material banks.

Forms of maintenance support

Maintenance training

  • The VERSO programme provides training to MiniVerso and Verso trained units to keep them up and running. Maintenance of activities is an important part of the long-term development of activities and ensuring their effectiveness. The trainings are designed around the needs of the community and you can find out more about them from our trainers.

Meetings of mediators

  • The Sopula meetings are national gatherings of mediators from trained units.

Mentoring groups

  • Mentoring groups support the establishment and maintenance of regional mediation activities.

Carer webinars

  • Carers' awareness of mediation and its practices will be strengthened.

Other support is designed together according to the needs of the units carrying out the activities.

Mentoring in the VERSO programme

The VERSO mentoring programme is a regional, group-based peer mentoring programme. Unlike traditional mentoring, where the more experienced mentor guides the newcomer, we believe that around the mediation we all have something to give and learn, and a common understanding is strengthened in the group.

Mentoring offers

  • For participating services: sharing good practices and expertise in a forum.
  • For mentors: peer learning and reflection.
  • Practical interaction with peers.

Let's create a mentoring model together to support your maintenance

  • Activities that meet your needs and look the part
  • It's easy to become a peer mentor!
  • Mentoring is available for both adults and students

Student mentoring

Are you an enthusiastic mediator who has completed Verso training? Would you like to learn more about mediation and meet Versoers from other schools?
Get involved in student mentoring!

There's enthusiasm for a new story, but over time, everyone needs a little extra push and depth. VERSO mentoring keeps the mediation fire alive and the skills even better. Mentoring gives Verso practitioners from nearby schools a chance to meet each other and exchange ideas, tips and perspectives on mediation.

The VERSO programme's student mentoring activities are:

  • Peer mediators sharing their knowledge in a group.
  • Each group will have its own thing to do - the sky's the limit for ideas!
  • Visits, brainstorming together and discussing the enthusiasm for mediation that unites us.
  • A chance to try something new and take Verso to the next level with Verso adults.

Who can come along?

  • It is open to trained Verso students and Verso adults from different schools in the area who want to collaborate by sharing their experiences of mediation. You don't need to be a specialist, you just need to be confident in your own skills and want to develop them further.

How to set up a student mentoring group?

  • Talk to your own Verso adults about wanting to try peer mentoring. You can refer them to this page.
  • Please contact the VERSO mentoring team (contact details below).
  • VERSO mentoring coordinators will help you get started by finding suitable friends from local schools to brainstorm with.
