VERSO online courses to support training

Verso school staff's own online course

The VERSO online courses, of which there are three, are also freely available to the units we train:

  • Verso school staff's own online course
  • Verso schools' own online course for pupils
  • A dedicated online course for early childhood staff using MiniVerso

The VERSO programme, in cooperation with AAC-Global, a company that produces e-learning courses, has produced online courses to promote a culture of mediation in the early childhood education and training field. There are three courses - for pupils and staff in Verso schools and for staff in the early childhood education and care units involved in MiniVerso. The aim of the courses is to raise awareness and to strengthen the embedding of mediation in the everyday life of the communities where it is taught.

The courses are intended for communities trained by the VERSO programme. They are not a substitute for initial training in mediation, but they are a good support when introducing Verso or MiniVerso to new staff and students. Each course takes about half an hour to complete.

The courses can be found in the VERSO material banks, for which you have been given access during staff training. For more information or if you have lost your account, please contact verso@sovittelu.com or miniverso@sovittelu.com.

MiniVerso course for early childhood education staff

MiniVerso course for early childhood education staff opens up the theoretical basis for a mediative approach and a restorative approach in the early childhood education and care unit. The online course illustrates how MiniVerso takes place in practice and how MiniVerso supports the VASU approach.

Verso schools' own online course for pupils

Verso course for pupils serves both as an information course and as a motivation to use mediation. The aim is to give students an understanding of how to deal with their own grievances or conflicts in peer mediation and how to make their own involvement in dispute resolution worthwhile.

A dedicated online course for early childhood staff using MiniVerso

Verso course for staff in schools and educational institutions explains the origins of mediation and restorative approaches, the theoretical background and how Verso activities reinforce the premises and objectives of the OPS. The aim of the course is not only to inform about Verso, but also to motivate staff to use the skills of trained peer mediators and adult mediators in different everyday situations.
